Why We Built This Site
California does not provide a general public, name-based search of state summary criminal histories. Alameda Superior Court holds filed cases, the Sheriff's Office maintains county custody records, and each police agency keeps its own reports. A person reviewing a statewide record must use the California Department of Justice fingerprint process. We bring those distinct access paths together while keeping clear that one search cannot stand in for another.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site with no connection to a California court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Its limits are straightforward:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
An official copy must come from the agency that maintains it, such as Alameda Superior Court, the arresting agency, or California DOJ.
